Many of these services are unique and exclusive and will not be found from other vendors. By offering these services we are certain that we can improve your bonsai experience and broaden your horizons.

Bonsai Hand Tool Sharpening
This is an essential service that maintains your hand tools and the your investment in the tool. It also is paramount that your tools be sharp for the aesthetic and horticultural aspects of your tree. Each tool serviced at North Star Bonsai includes:

Ground Lease for Growing
This service is designed for city dwellers or for people that just plain don't want to dig up their backyards! The concept of this service is to give people the opportunity to grow their own bonsai material, but have space constraints.
Each grow row is 50 x 4 and is in a secure location with 24 hour security. Each grow row is prepared for you by North Star Bonsai. We till and amend the soil by adding a mushroom soil and grit mix. Of coarse you can request your own personal mix to use as an amendment.

Tree Maintenance
There are many variables to tree maintenance and each individual tree has its own complexities and requirements. They can range from a simple candling, to a tree that has become sick and brought you to your wits end.
We have worked with individuals to develop, refine, and maintain their trees. Or simply nurse them back to health. We normally offer this maintenance service on an ad hoc basis which protects you and your investment.
Emphasis is placed on encouraging clients to give their input during this process so that not only the tree benefits but the tree owner's knowledge and vision benefits also.
The process begins with the client presenting the tree in person, or in some cases sending us the tree. At that time we go through the discovery process establishing what the client's end goal is. A strategy is formulated and a price agreed upon for the service.

Tree Boarding
This service speaks basically for itself. It is designed for people
leaving on prolonged trips or for winter storage. For winter storage we
offer both a heated green house for tropicals, and cold frames for over
wintering.
