Bonsai Express started as an informal service for our customers. We wanted to save our bonsai friends money on shipping costly bulk items like Turface, Lava, large pots and large trees. Also we like meeting our online customers face to face something that internet stores don't provide. We always like feed back and there is nothing like getting it in person. So we started a low cost delivery service that had a northern route and southern route along the I-95 corridor. This informal service has now become a permanent formal service for our customers. Presently this delivery service has expanded to serve the Boston, Mass. area (northern most) down through to Florence, South Carolina (southern most). The idea behind this service is to provide an inexpensive shipping method through co-operative equity between vendor and customer. Using this method everyone ordering pays ten dollars (10.00) for their shipping no matter what size their order. This can be a single item or multiple items, there is no weight restrictions. The only requirement for this service is that the invoice must be one hundred dollars (100.00) or more.
We set up distribution spots along our route were you may collect your items, sort of like train stops. Distribution spots are generally located near major intersecting highways or interstates giving easy access to all. For distribution locations for March 2010 please refer to the maps below.
The Express runs twice a year. Once in March and then again in August. Currently plans are in the works to expand our routes to include a western route which we hope to announce soon. If you are between Philadelphia Pa. and Columbus, Wheeling, or Cleveland and would like the Express service drop us a line and let us know.
How to utilize Bonsai Express: If you want to knock off potentially hundreds of dollars in shipping from your invoice, and are close to any of our distribution points along either of our routes and you feel you can utilize this service to your advantage, you should go ahead and shop as usual.
