Ground Lease for Growing Bonsai
With over 25 acres of growing fields, we decided why should we have all the fun! So we decided to give
you an opportunity to grow your own material through our ground lease program. Whether you want to grow a tree from a whip or you just want to put your tree in the ground for a while to rejuvenate it or add bulk. This service is designed for you if you lack the space to do so.

you an opportunity to grow your own material through our ground lease program. Whether you want to grow a tree from a whip or you just want to put your tree in the ground for a while to rejuvenate it or add bulk. This service is designed for you if you lack the space to do so.
A vast majority of bonsai enthusiasts are concrete locked in urban landscapes, a primary reason that many find growing bonsai enjoyable. However, these same people often wish to grow material that they can't do efficiently in a pot. Growing material in the ground offers speed of development, and the flavor of a tree grown in the wild. Something that allows you to jump father and faster in the development of future bonsai.
We offer grow rows that are 50' x 4' (200 sq. feet) and are in a secure location with 24 hour security. Each grow row is prepared for you by North Star Bonsai. We till and amend the soil by adding a mushroom soil and grit mix. Of coarse you can request your own personal mix to use as an amendment at an additional cost. So all you have to do is prepare your planting material and actually put it in the ground. If your fairly new to ground growing material for bonsai we will be happy to assist you in anyway we can by giving you tips and tricks that we use to grow our outstanding bonsai material.

Tree Boarding
This service speaks basically for itself. It is designed for people
leaving on prolonged trips or for winter storage. For winter storage we
offer both a heated green house for tropical trees, and cold frames for over
wintering.
